Let Me Love You

Will you let me love you? Will you let me caress your heart back to life? I see the lies you have believed and the barriers you have erected to protect your heart. You have thought that if no one can get close that you won’t be hurt again. But your heart aches in the emptiness and loneliness that fills your soul.

This is not what I have planned for you. I made you for intimacy – to be fully known and totally loved. The ones I entrusted you to, hurt and wounded you. This was not My heart for you, nor the plan that I made. I wanted you loved and cherished but the broken vessels that cared for you had little love to give. Caged in the wounds of their own past, they lashed out and hurt those they wanted to love.

I know that the cuts were deep, but the cries of anguish were heard by Me even when no one else listened or cared. I made you to know love but in its place, you have known brokenness and shame. Yet I came and paid the price to bring you back to life. 

If you let me, I will come. I will remove the shards of offense and the deep pain of your soul. I will heal the wounds. I will teach you to hope again and to rest in My love. I do not falter, nor do I tire of your need. I will never be depleted by your brokenness.

In My hands, your heart is safe. Gently I will massage your heart back to life. I will hold what is fragile. I will breathe life into the embers of dreams that lie deep in your soul. So come, let me love you back to life.
