Goodness and Mercy
David had the audacity to declare that goodness and mercy would follow him all the days of his life. Not just the days when he walked in integrity, fully devoted to the Lord, but all his days; every day, and in every situation, goodness and mercy would be there for him.
That’s Not Fair
The Lord totally understands the challenge that forgiveness brings, for every sin is an afront against Him.
Holding Nothing Worthless
When Jesus returns, His reward will be with Him. He will generously reward all that is of Him and remove all that is not. None of us will be left holding for eternity something that we regret, wrongly pursued, or mistakenly entertained.
Don’t Remember What God Forgot
We no longer need to live under guilt regarding our past or shame over what has been. We can choose to forget, because God already has.
Doing the Impossible
God in His Holiness, reclaiming man in his sinfulness; unapproachable light infusing fallen man. Impossible. But then, He is the God of the impossible.
Do You Really Want to Know
Jesus spoke in parables to hide truth, rather than reveal it. By doing so, the casual listener was protected from accountability for truth they were not ready to embrace
Mercy’s Lament
We can look at our weakness and hide in our shame, or we can turn to the One who has paid for it all. Mercy has been freely given. Now it is our choice to receive.
Creating Failures
The Pharisees had reduced the law to a standard that man could keep. They prided themselves on their observance of the law. Jesus however revealed a standard that all would fail.
