Always Here

You never leave; You've always here. I may lose awareness of Your presence, yet You never go. You promised to be always with me, and You are true to Your word.

You know my thoughts, my actions, my motives, my concerns. You do not view my life from a distance like a benevolent dictator, for You are one with me. You share my life, understand my thoughts, and believe in my dreams; the desires and passions that You planted within me.

Like an attentive gardener You watch over what You have sown. You see the weeds and perceive the rocks and hard places. You know the judgments and the offence that hardens the heart. You see the carelessness that fails to water what You have sown. Yet, through it all You encourage and strengthen. You call me up, rather than put me down. You patiently wait and repeatedly call when I'm blinded by my own thoughts and deafened by the presence of other loves.

How constant are Your ways. How precious is Your love and Your kindness. You are always here sharing my earthly existence. Thank you, that You never leave me alone. You never abandon me, and You never give up on me.

One day, my journey here will be over. I will stand with You in glory, full of gratitude for Your enabling strength, and a journey shared. My heart will be overwhelmed by all that is, and the awareness of all that was.
